Diabetic Foot Care

As well as pediatric foot care, we also offer treatment for patients suffering from diabetes, as this condition can sometimes affect your feet. Diabetes is a condition in which excessively high glucose levels in the blood can jeopardize the health of the eyes, liver, blood vessels, and kidneys. One of the potential effects of diabetes is a weakened immune system making the body unable to effectively fight off infections. Additionally, the disease often leads to serious foot problems. If you suffer from diabetes, it is important that you ensure foot health by working with us to reduce the likelihood of infection and quickly treat any infection that arises.

Orthotics are in-shoe devices that are aimed at helping adjust the alignment of the foot and lower leg. They are generally prescribed to address injury-causing motion to make standing, walking, and running easier and more efficient. We can help get you outfitted with the correct orthotics for your unique situation.

Machines Used for Treatment

We use a variety of specialized equipment to treat different conditions, in order to offer relief for foot ailments.

The CryoProbe

Cyroptherapy involves the freezing of tissue to alleviate the effects of plantar warts and more. Our CryoProbe tool offers pinpoint accuracy and is ideally suited for children. The Nitrous Oxide used effectively targets all shapes and sizes of wart with minimal discomfort. 5 – 30 seconds of treatment is all it takes. Occasionally a blister may appear for a few hours following treatment; however, no restrictions are imposed on future swimming or bathing. The affected tissue should scab and fall off within 2 weeks.

Swiss DolorClast Classic

This machine is used to offer gentle treatment of soft tissue pain, and we use it to treat many different musculoskeletal problems. After 5 to 10 minutes of application, many patients feel relief in the days following treatment.

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive out-patient alternative to surgery for patients who suffer from bone, joint, and tendon disorders. The treatment uses a machine to send acoustic shockwaves into bone or soft tissue, breaking up scarring that has settled in and allowing the body to regenerate blood vessels and bone cells, leading to a faster and more effective healing. Shockwave therapy is ideal for athletes as an alternative therapy for stress fractures, rotator cuff injuries, non-union of bone fractures, tennis elbow, patellar tendonopathy, and plantar fasciitis.

FOX Laser

To treat fungal nail disease, we use a hot laser by FOX Laser which provides many benefits as opposed to medication or surgery for nail fungus issues. Utilizing the FOX Laser, a laser beam is slowly directed across the nail bed to generate heat underneath the nail and in contact with the fungal colony. It also treats warts, foot pain (such as heel spur bursitis, plantar fasciitis, Morton’s Neuroma, neurits). Please check out the following informative podiatry website:
